Not to self in future: always look completely over a site before forwarding the link to others.
I was perusing the "blogs of note" on blogger when I found The Caption Machine It's a brilliant thought: create a blog where individuals can upload funny pictures and then others can post blog 'captions' to go with the photos. The problem lies within was people consider funny.
The site taught me that some people sense of humor is a lot cruder than mine. And reminded me that the average web user, or at least the average user of The Caption Machine, is a lot younger than me. And their favorite type of movie is the gross-out comedy. And they really don't mind cursing every other word. And they are really not very funny. Every now and then though, there was a priceless quote - someone who really understood the purpose of the site and went beyond spamming for spam's sake. Unfortunately, they were few and far between.
To those that I sent the link to, consider yourself warned. And I'll be more vigilant before I send you anywhere again.
