Successful first playgroup hosting!
Mommy playgroup was today, at our house, and it went really well. There were seven mommies and 7 babies (duh!): 5 boys and 2 girls. I ended up making 7-layer salad (our recipe does not use bacon) and tea sandwiches. I made three kinds of tea sandwiches: peanut butter & jelly, with a variety of jellies (blackberry, strawberry, and grape); egg salad (simple to make ... boiled eggs, mayo and curry powder); and cucumber with cream cheese and chives. I used two types of bread: white amd Jewish Rye bread. Very yummy.
Jeff worked extremely hard to get the outside more presentable before they came, but neither of us got all of what we wanted to have accomplished done. There'll be a next time, though, I'm sure. Everyone remarked at how easy my instructions were (ha!! Jeff's are always confusing), and how peaceful the drive was. I'm so glad they felt that way instead of thinking it too long.
