Swearing Is Expensive
John Spartan, you are fined one credit for a violation of the Verbal Morality Statute.

I heard this morning that a superior court overturned the cursing canoeist's conviction (see above link) as unconstitutional, stating that under this law "Everyone would be guilty of a misdemeanor." At least the court acknowledges that cursing is a social norm, not a deviation. People use curse words because they have the power to shock and draw attention. Most words don't have that same power anymore.
