Wednesday, July 03, 2002 Randy Versus Simon in the World Series of Love American Idol took it up another notch last night, becoming my favorite reality TV show. Tempers flared between judges and nearly led to fisticuffs when Simon Crowley, the show's Bristish and Aren't-I-Just-Like-Professor-Kingsfield called the kids losers and Randy Jackson nearly hit him. Coupled with scared, and now very nervous kids who performed shakily, it made for great TV. Three solid performances near the end of the hour, including a knock your socks off rendition of I'll Be by an alternate singer who replaced a disqualified contestant, made it truly amazing.
