As of today, I am officially extended nursing. Yes, Parker can walk, kinda talk, and definitely ask to nurse. Yes, I know not everyone understands why I would allow him to keep nursing since he can. Biologically, it makes perfect sense to me: why give him milk meant for a baby cow or even a baby goat, when we have free, nutritious milk for humans on tap? Don't get me wrong, I won't be meeting him at lunch time when he's in school for anything, but I don't see the rush. I also wanted to offer a few links to anyone who really wants to know more about extended nursing: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. This is by no means an exhaustive list of sites, but please, educate yourself before criticizing my choice. Getting off my little soapbox ;).
