Just after Parker's bath last night the electricity cut off. So, while Jeff held a naked, wet, slippery baby, I made my way blindly into the kitchen and found the flashlight. Luckily we had just used it recently or we might not have known where it was. I then got the matches out of our "junk" drawer (the lighter died a while ago it seems) and lit some candles. Time went by quickly it seemed without electricity. It went off at about 10:10, and Parker was asleep by around 10:30, and the first time we looked at a clock it was almost 11 pm. It was pretty surprising to both Jeff and me.

Personally, I liked the sound of no electricity and the presence of candlelight. Jeff, on the other hand, was freaked out by everything. We used the opportunity to clean up around the house, and by 11:30 or so, the house was clean. Which is, of course, good since I have playgroup here today. Now to go make the cake I was planning to and then prepare the lasagna.
