Luddite in Training
Some weeks I just hate technology. Out laptop is little more than a paperweight now, so when I need our computer and programs, and we go to Kristin's parents, I need to take out tower with us. Invariably, something inside gets jiggled loose, and it needs to be fixed either when we get there or when we get back. And, since, Kristin's dad is the only truly technical computer person amongst us, it usually does not get fixed once we get back here. So, once again no computer in our network can find the other, the computer sometimes needs to be grounded before it can be started, and the modem connects but nothing happens once it does so. While we attempt to repair the problem, we're back to the laptop/paperweight/functional modem to surf and bid on freelance projects.

Meanwhile, I've discovered I'm less like MacGyver and more like Han Solo in terms of mechanical prowess. My makeshift brake light switch tipper fell out, causing the bttery in the Honda to drain completely. It now sits in the back of the Trophy Shop parking lot (The Trophy Lot is a lot like El Dorado or Shangri-La, except some lucky souls have found it. It's aparking lot within walking distance of campus where no parking decal is required and no tow trucks roam. It is littered with sofas and easy chair, as it doubles as the place where Furniture Goes to Die. It also features pot holes the size of Rhode Island). Ironically, our other car is parked there now too, as parking on campus is impossible, even with a decal. especially now that they have decided to close the lot right out front to build a new building. Progress marches forward!
