Parker's doctor's visit will be tomorrow at 8:15 am ... he is due for his Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccine, but we are planning to delay it. I would actually rather him get the Pox than get the vaccine, since getting it conveys lifetime immunity whereas it is unclear whether the vaccine will. And chicken pox is much more dangerous for adults than it is for children. Jeff and I have both been exposed in our youth to the virus. So, right now, I'm planning on not vaccinating him until he's three ... if he hasn't been exposed and contracted it before then, we'll go for the vaccine. I am in now way against vaccines that are proven to be effective. At the same time, if the majority of the population has been vaccinated, it is safer for him to get it as well. But, I see no reason why a 12 month old should get it ... at least not right now.
