There is no Sanctuary!
Micheal and I are dressed as Sandmen for Halloween. The sandmen from Logan's Run. Remember them? If you don't, you're just like everyone else. So far I have been asked numerous times what Star Trek or Star Wars character I am. Sometimes when i begin explaining people remember the film, somtimes not. It's funny, when I was describing our costumes at Parker's birthday party, the only person who was familiar with the film immediately was Kristin's step-grandmother Fay.
So, I'm recapping the plot of Logan's Run for everyone I meet. I also have the DVD playing here in the office for passersby, though now that I am seeing it in letterbox I can see the things that kept the censors from immediately allowing a PG rating for the film. Perhaps next year I'll find a costume that doesn't take immense sci-fi film knowledge to recognize.
The last person said great costume, and that she saw someone this morning who had the costume AND the ears. At least our student assistant, Kristin, was familiar with Logan, though she had never seen the movies. You see, she read the original novel trilogy and loves them. At least thats coming from a different perspective and doesn't feel as frustrating, as she knows the character, but not in this incarnation.
