CNN - Late Night MTV News?
At three AM, something strange happens to CNN. CNN become CNNstudent, almost a "Pop-Up" Video version of normal Headline News. News articles are interspersed with brief sound bites explaining the meaning of the word "preemptive" or asking trivia about Islamic Flags. These snippets are accompanied with loud blaring voices that remind you of used car ads.
What is this? It's look and demeanor suggests it's for school children, but 3 AM is waaay too early (or late) for such programming. If it is designed for a college (read: insomniac) crowd, it's way to pandering. Do they really expect me to shout it our at the television, like I am watching Jepoardy? It's very strange.
