The Racket
I can be such a doofus. Apparently the many times my father-in-law told me that the modem he gave us was a USB modem did not register. For some reason, I still thought it was an internal modem, and so when I unplugged the computer at his house I left the lift dongle that was, in fact, the modem. So we are still unconnected in the house.
Also, I received a notification that my license will be suspended. You see, a few months ago I was pulled over for having a headlight out, a fact I was aware of, and, in fact, had the replacement in the seat next to me. I waited until the last moment to pay the minor “look and see I repaired it” fee of $4.00, right before it jumped to $95.00. However, what I was not informed was that in addition to paying $4.00 to the Highway Patrol, I was then supposed to go the County Clerk’s office to pay them an additional $5.00 fee. As I did not, they made the move to suspend my license starting in January. I can clear it up – by paying $75 to the County Clerk and an additional $25 to the DMV. I smell a racket.
