I Got to Feeling Like a Machine
Receive email. Copy .docs to desktop. Open .docs. Print as .pdfs. Transfer form functionality from old .pdfs to new .pdfs. Adjust form fields to match new .pdf. Change values of form fields. Save. Replace old .pdfs with new .pdfs on website.
Copy .docs to shared network folder. Go to computer with zip drive to copy to zip disk. Take files to PC. Open .docs on PC. Adjust docs to mirror layout from Macs. Save as .pdfs with nested tags to be ADA compliant. Transfer form functionality from old .pdfs to new .pdfs. Adjust form fields to match new .pdf. Change values of form fields. Save. Transfer to zip disk, to zip disk drive computer, back to my computer. Replace old .pdfs with new .pdfs on website. Rinse. Repeat.
This is te tedious mind-numbing procedure I go through everytime our forms change on our site. I create both ADA-compliant and regular pdfs because the compliant files are 2-3 times the size of the normal files, and I can't figure out why, except they have larger tags. This round of changes is to replace the SSN with the new Gator UFID number. Essentially, everywhere on the form it used to say SSN, we had to change it to ssay UFID.
And in two months, I get to do it all over again so we can update to 03-04 forms. Oh joy. Oh rapture.
