Skewing American Values
I've started to explore ebay as a side location to get projects, in addition to Elance. In two weeks, I have gotten three bids - though not as lucrative, it is still money.
It seems others on Ebay are using their auctions to make political statements. There is a flap about one seller who refuses to sell to a Canadian due to the Iraq war. In his response to the British Columbian winner, the Atlanta-based company stated "At the present time, we do not ship to, or accept bids from, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany or any other country that does not support the United States in our efforts to rid the world of Saddam Hussein. If you are not with us, you are against us."
Patriotism and opinion over capitalism? That doesn't sound like the American way to me ;)
