Bike Blocks
Gainesville has a love for a particular type of urban art, in which a block of concrete is poured and a bicycle is then set within it, just like you set fruit in a jello mold. Parts of the bike stick out of the block at odd angles. They are harsh, spartan, and not very attractive. Kristin coined a new term when we saw a series of them yesterday, that I think is quite apt - 'sculpturesque'.
