Waiting for Go
IMDb Message Boards: The Place Where they don't Want You to Post. Seems they have been having 'congestion' in the boards recently. Never mind the fact that the only time I saw congestion was on Oscar night...gee, i dunno, maybe because it's a MOVIE web site? Anyway, IMDB's response was to place a five minute lag between a user's ability to post; therefore, if I want to write a post in five separate threads, I have to wait 25 minutes to do so. I waste time sometimes, but not that much time!
What a day today! Let's break it down:
Leave to go to work and discover the LHS will not start.
Attempt to jumpstart the car to no avail.
Drive by the repair shop and get a battery boost Pack.
Attempt to jump the car again to no avail.
Attempt to take the battery out. To make it really challenging, the hydraulic struts that are supposedly there to hold the hood open decide to fail at random intervals, so the rest of the manuevers detailed within the car must be performed with either one hand to heaven or a back braced for impact.
Strip the bolt for the negative lead.
Tear the garage apart to find the one particular socket set needed
to remove the stripped bolt.
Remove lead to find that my sockets are not long enough to reach the battery's restraining bolt.
Go to store and buy deep socket set
Come home to discover my cheap plastic socket driver can't give me enough pressure to turn the bolt - the plastic hand grip keeps turning.
Go back to store to buy new socket driver.
Come home to find my spanking new socket driver does not give a advantageous grip - it's too short.
Improvise using both socket drivers combined, using a feature in the new one's handle that allow it to combine to form the mighty Devastator!.
Successfully remove the battery and drive back to the repair shop.
Repair man points out the battery bulges, slightly leaks, and is four years old, but is 'pretty confident' it will take a charge.
Told to go home for two hours.
Come back and retrieve the energized battery. Drive home, place it in the car. When the negative lead is placed on the battery, it ominously begins to wisp smoke and reek of ozone. Refuses to start.
Car gets towed. Parker thinks it's a lot of fun.
And that was my whole day :) Guess it beats going to work.
