Tuesday, May 11, 2004 From my friend Lisa, on Iraq "I liken the whole thing to AOL. AOL puts those free little discs everywhere - "Here, have internet service, go on it's easy." So you get the free disc and at first you're thinking, hey this great, internet service. Not until you have the disc do you get hit with the $34.95 a month charge plus hidden "extras." So you get disgusted, pitch the disc and go back to whatever you had before, even if it sucked, it didn't cost you anything. America has become the AOL of democracy. We hand it out like cheap cigars and wonder why people throw it back in our faces. It's not cheap, it's not easy and it takes the blood of your family to have it. It does not take some stranger waltzing in and handing you this magic pill that should make everything better." ------------------------------------------------
