The Promotional T-Shirt
There was this contest being held by Pricewatch.com to design a promotional t-shirt for the company. I had heard about it, but only really became interested in the last few hours, when I found out the prize was $10,000! I cam eup with a few designs, and submitted as myself and Kristin, as well as 'donating' a few to the contest for various family members. I was kind of worried what would happen if those where chosen, as the contest wanted you to specify the artwork was your original creation, but I figured I'd sign off the rights and that would solve the problem.

I needn't have worried - none of my designs were chosen as the top 25. Generally I would not be bothered by this, except the quality of a majority of the chosen designs is substandard. Several do not meet the requirements and specifications laid down by the contest rules, and most do not advertise or promote Pricewatch in a way that would make it clear to consumers what the site is about. Several of them I cannot see anyone deciding to wear about in public, or, if they did, accomplishing the goal of attracting attention and generating a positive connotation to the Pricewatch name. I saw plenty of professional and worthy designs that inexplicably were not chosen. If I were of the online vendors who can one choose a winner from these top 25, I would be very disappointed.

But don't take my word for it, go and check out Pricewatch.com, scroll down, and select the links to the chosen 25 and to the participated shirt designs and let me know your thoughts.
