A Saint to Prove a Point
Pope John Paul II has proclaimed more saints than all of his predecessors in the past 500 years combined. To their burgeoning ranks, he has added a patron saint of pro-life activists, a saint who sacrificed her life for her child's by refusing as abortion. I suppose this does reinforce the Chuch's opinion, but only reinforces the stigma placed on women who do get abortions.
