It's Official .... I HATE Florida
Yesterday, Jeff captures what he thinks is a neat spider to show to Parker. Luckily, Parker falls asleep before Jeff caught it. He shows me, and I am suspicious immediately, because its body shape looks to ME like a black widow. Well, it had odd markings on the top that didn't look anything like what I think of as a black widow spider. Well, I finally get it to drop in the viewing box (we used Parker's insect catcher for this), and low and behold, a red hour-glass .... definitely a widow spider.
Jeff takes it outside and .... RELEASES IT!! I was like, you didn't smush the shit out of it??? Well, Jeff then takes to the internet, and finds out that it is a red widow spider ... supposedly even MORE deadly than a black widow!
So, we have found black widow, brown widow, and now red widow spiders around my house. I honestly want to move. Anywhere but Florida. I mean, we get our house sprayed every two months, but as our pest control woman has said to us repeatedly, spiders can only be killed by direct contact, not residual like MOST bugs. Isn't that lovely??
