Wild Blue Yonder
We went to Macon today so Kristin’s uncle could take care of her cavity. While going back to Florida, we stopped in Warner Robbins to see the National Aviation Museum at the Air Force Base there. Parker enjoyed the planes a lot until he saw the World War II aircraft with the teeth painted on the nose cone. After that, he found the planes too big and got scared. But he still wanted to see them…from a distance.
The neatest thing I saw at the museum was the reconnaissance drone that was built to be launched from the SR-71 blackbird while in flight. It sat piggyback to the plane itself, exactly like the one-person shuttle that came with the G.I. Joe Night Raven toy, which was essentially a model of the Blackbird. I always thought that was just a sci-fi element added to the Night Raven toy that had no basis in real life! Of course, the Air Force abandoned the idea after several successful launches, after it failed and destroyed both aircraft.

When we came home, Parker announced he was tired and went to bed completely on his own. That’s a first.
