Fine.
After lots of thought, and looking, we are staying with the practice, and I'm doing the monitoring. I already have 4 fingers with pricks in them (oh, and the numbers were fabulous, of course ), and typing on the computer is actually painful! You will not believe the cost of the monitoring equipment though. 50 test strips cost over $40!! Insurance will supposedly cover part of that, but we forgot the prescription, so without that, it won't. We were very lucky, though, and the Target pharmacy had a "sample" monitor that they gave to me, so I'm good until tomorrow, when I go back to buy the test strips and lancets, for $50+!! Yeah, soooooo glad I agreed to do this!!

My midwife did call me Wednesday, to see how I was doing, and said she was shocked that the OB had said that about "maybe you should go elsewhere"/dropping us, and I explained that this was EXACTLY the reason why, at 24 weeks, I had asked under what circumstances we'd be dropped, and he had reassured us that there were none. See what a lying jackass he is?? So, I essentially told her that I now feel like I have no rights to disagree with anything they ask so that I have the best shot at having a VBAC where we live.

So, I'm to test essentially until my next appointment (Dec 7), though she said a week and then intermittently, and then intermittently from then on. Sigh. Did I mention my fingers hurt?

On another note, I don't know what I'm doing wrong -- I'm constantly hungry, and trying to eat then, and I've STILL continued to lose weight. I'm now 4 pounds over my starting weight, down from 8. I do wonder if it is still related to stress??

Sprout is VERY active, though not as active as Parker, and it is so cool to know where s/he is while moving, as I can clearly feel feet, followed by the pushing of the back lower down. Definitely OA position (best for birth ), and staying that way most of the time. Occasionally Sprout'll turn and I'll feel elbows or knees, but it is mostly feet. And I'm feeling lots of contractions -- which I LOVE!! I never felt them before (no BH or labor with Parker), so this is definitely a neat sensation.

Jeff is still kinda aloof about the whole thing, like he was when I was pregnant with Parker, but I guess that's typical. I admit, I would LOVE for him to be soooo into this pregnancy, and constantly wanting to see if he can feel Sprout move, or watch my belly do all sorts of gyrations, and talk about it, but it isn't him, and I'm starting to just accept that ... slowly but surely.
