2 Week Check-up
We went in today to get Kira all checked out for her 2 week appointment, and HOLY MOLY!!! All of my concerns about nursing are OUT of the window!!
At birth: 8 lbs. 14 ounces
Leaving Hospital: 8 lbs. 5 oz. or 8 lbs. 7 oz. (heard two different things)
5 days: 8 lbs. 8 oz.
2 weeks (today): 9 lbs. 6 oz.
She's 21" inches (up 1" from birth), and her head circumference is 38 cm. She's grown so much!!
We are delaying the Hep B vaccine, and our pediatrician was completely behind it . He even said she isn't even at risk yet (since she's not having sex or doing IV drugs), and we would have to decide if we want to delay them until later in her first year, after a year, or once she's in school. He explained that the reason for doing it so young is that you come in to the doctor's office anyways, and since you have to follow a certain schedule on it, you aren't coming for extra visits. It was just really cool that he was 100% behind our decision.
Oh, and she's such a good sleeper!! I am just amazed at the difference between her and Parker. She is sleeping better -- we just had that one night of super-fussy, thank goodness (**knocking on wood**). It's hard to believe that she's already past Parker in weight, even though he was born heavier!! (He had *just* regained his birth weight at 2 weeks.)
