How different it can be the second time.
I'm feeling incredibly lucky today. First off, Jeff has taken Parker to playgroup today, so it is just me and my girl here today.

Although this may be jinxing it, may I say that the last three nights, Kira has slept for 5 to 6 hours a night solid!!! She sleeps so much more than Parker did -- I'm hoping it doesn't change.

She wets and poops enough, but I don't feel the engorgement I did for like a month last time -- I'm more comfortable, but I'm starting to worry about her weight gain. I guess having the confidence doesn't change that. She also nurses great, and despite having less-than-perfectly shaped nipples, she has overcome the ONE DAY of latch issues we had, and I avoided a day of crying in bed over it, and having to resort to pumping and feeding like I did last time.

I'm healing well, though it still feels like my guts are all in the wrong place, as they settle back down. I also apparently pulled a muscle in my neck (don't know if that was in labor or after surgery), and it is taking its time going away. I've been able to get by on very few pain meds (those nurses at the hospital were SO pushy, trying to get me to take meds -- they were all like, "you just had surgery, you have got to be in pain, and you need meds!". I kept telling them I was handling it fine, and I did take meds when I felt it was getting unbearable.), and I really think that makes a difference.

I'm sooo not looking forward to Jeff going back to work -- next Tuesday his vacation runs out. Sucks that we used so much when I was in the hospital. Luckily, I already see I have a great support system here, and my playgroup moms have offered repeatedly to help out, come over, or what have you. I am so lucky!!
