I'm sick.
My nose is all stuffy, my sinuses are enlarged, and my throat is swollen. I don't have a fever, at least, so that means it is just a cold (whew!). However, I am sooo afraid that Kira is going to catch it!! With all the stories of RSV, pneumonia, croup, flu, etc. both on this board and locally, I am just terrified for her little 3-week old body!!!
Oh, the in-laws are gone -- they are off to visit with Jeff's aunt and then his grandmother in Georgia. Thank goodness they were here and played some with Parker and kept him a little less jealous, which is always a good thing.
I am home alone today, sick, with Parker who has been having "issues" with Kira's need for immediate attention at any time. I know that is normal, but it is so hard to reconcile!! He needed a nap yesterday, and wanted me to sit in there and hold his hand, which I was doing, but Kira was crying and I heard her being switched from person to person trying to calm her back down (she had a diaper change, and yesterday she didn't sleep for much of the day!!), so I finally came out and got her -- which made Parker bawl. I took her in there and nursed her while holding his hand, and he promptly fell asleep.
Parker has decided he still wants to nurse, and has started taking to throwing fits about it. His jealousy of Kira has (hopefully) reached its peak right now, and it is hard to deal with. He is still gentle with her, but takes his agression out on Jeff and me. Yesterday, after pushing his Daddy to the edge, he went running to his room, but I was in the way, and he shoved me -- RIGHT on my incision. I doubled over in pain, and just wanted to be taken out and shot.
