Sunday, April 24, 2005 On Blogs and Commodes Well, I have been out of touch for a while. Like everything else, this became a lower priority over the past half a year. I don’t think I’ll be trying to catch up like Kristin did – I think I’ll just start up right here. If you’ve read her blog, you know where we’ve been the past few months. Being a father the second time around is easier in many ways, and harder in others. Luckily, the lack of sleep aspect mercifully waited several weeks, and now is generally a thing of the past. Tonight, Parker used his potty for the first time. We’re moving him off of the disposable diaper and into fleece training pants, and gradually weaning him to potty use. In a type of yin-yang, positive-negative process, we have also started to have evil pee to counter his good pee – the male cats of the neighborhood have started to mark their territory around our house in response to Lockheed on the Porch. They sprayed down the screen porch, and we’re pretty confident they do it around our front door and garage as well. This would explain our maddening tendencies to catch whiffs of cat pee where none should be – like in the car, for example. Now we are looking to find a way to naturally discourage the cats from pulling their Tony Manero shtick. I think a Rottweiler would do the trick. ------------------------------------------------
