Our education system
I know I'm constantly sounding like a broken record about schools, and I know that we hear only the worst things, but I swear EVERY single day I hear something new that makes me not want my children to go to public school -- EVER.

Teachers sleep with their students, stun guns being used for discipline, little children are handcuffed and arrested for having a (albeit nasty) tantrum. The absolute lack of respect for adults, the rampant peer pressure that is leading 9 year olds to have oral sex as casually as shaking hands, the provocative clothing and constant jonesing for this/that name-brand crap, the school violence .... Not to mention the teaching to the tests, the lack of self-directed learning, the focus on only one aspect of a person's being (i.e. not their creative, physical side).

And yet, the thought of taking full charge of my child(ren)'s education is sooo daunting. I know I wouldn't be alone, as there are lots of homeschooling groups here in Florida (no doubt because of what's going on in our schools), but I'm not wanting to homeschool for religious reasons, so that'll probably make me persona non grata there.
