Tuesday, May 31, 2005 Another Update Parker got his stitches out this morning, and did great!! No papoose this time. He was scared at first, but it only took 2 minutes tops. He does have a cough, though -- a cold caught from yours truly. Kira is doing pretty well, though I am still at a loss for how to get her to sleep (and STAY asleep) other than the swing and blowdryer combination. Jeff and I both think we can feel teeth just below the surface, but that's it. Nothing seems to soothe her at times, and she screams like a banshee. It really does test my patience and makes me feel like a "bad" parent that I can just let her cry, and it doesn't even seem to bother me. (That said, I do not do the whole "cry it out" -- it goes against my parenting philosophy. If she needs to cry, someone will be there with her, not leave her abandoned to cry.) I never could do that with Parker. My local mom-friends say Parker's cry was VERY different, and even they felt the urge when he cried to do just about anything to help him. Jeff is stressed and tired, but losing weight since we've stopped eating pre-prepared food and no "quick" things (like he'd do for lunches, and sodas at work). He'd also pretty much cut himself off of caffeine because he was having some kind of chest pains (though his BP and pulse were normal) which I think were actually the starts of a panic attack (over money/debt, of course). He started to get a throat-tickle today, though. I'm doing ok. I developed a clogged duct yesterday that was intensely painful, but I worked my ass off to get rid of it, and today I'm back to normal. I've learned my lesson though -- NO sleeping on my stomach, even if I AM no longer pregnant. I have had a sore throat for much of the weekend, but it is getting better now. I'm feeling constantly tired, and yet can't rest well because my mind is going 10,000 mph over all that needs to be done, etc. ------------------------------------------------
