First Stitches: Parker
During Playgroup yesterday (Wednesday), Parker just started to run for a game of chase, and he tripped and fell, hitting his head and foot on the dining room side of the kitchen island. It wasn't immediately that I saw the blood.

Parker didn't want us to look at it, but his friend Braden was curious. We decided to take a picture so we could take more than a second to look at it, and to email the doctor, if need be, to see if we needed stitches.

We still aren't sure exactly what happened, even though it happened right in front of us, but he had an inch-long gash that was spread about 5-mm wide. It bled alot to begin with, but did stop on its own. Still, we decided the best course was to take him in to make sure he didn't need stitches.

Parker and Daddy went in to see the doctor, who decided pretty immediately that they needed the "papoose". Parker was then immobilized, had the wound irrigated, lidocaine injected, and received three stitches. Jeff says it was a harrowing experience. But, they gave him cake afterwards and he returned to playgroup with ice cream. Kids sure are resilient.
