Wednesday, June 01, 2005 NOT a good start to the day Actually, it started yesterday evening. Parker was in his cloth "pants" (aka toddler diaper) and pooped. He'd been coughing most of the evening, and that, combined with the gagging over his poopy diaper (the second one of the evening -- the first had been in his disposable from afternoon nap), led to projectile vomiting in his room and the bathroom. Add to this Kira cry/screaming in the background. I told Jeff that I couldn't handle this, and I went to nurse Kira (easy out, you think, right?). As I'm in there, I do hear Jeff take care of Parker and clean up the vomit. He even gets out the steam cleaner and cleans the carpet. That leads to today. I was in with Kira from then until 12 am trying to get her to sleep. When she finally fell asleep, I did too, without ever leaving our room. I wake up this morning, at 8 am, to Kira screaming as she passes gas (and then poops) and Parker saying, "It is snowing all over the couch and the cars." Well, I KNOW we live in Florida and that it is May, so I am skeptical. I get up and leave Kira pooping on the bed (in her diaper, of course!!), and behold the couch ........ Apparently, Nestle's Quik chocolate powder is "snow". And the couch includes the Boppy, pillow, and some clean laundry I was folding and didn't put up because of last night's activities. So, I vacuumed that up. No toys had been cleaned up, the kitchen was a disaster area from Jeff making dinner while I was trying to get Kira to sleep (and I hadn't been able to do the day's dishes before bed like I normally would). And he obviously didn't really steam clean, but used the attachment, which means that it wasn't "steamed" as much, and thus not sterilized. We gave Kira tylenol last night, and apparently Jeff didn't put the lid back on the bottle -- thankfully Parker didn't find it. Oh, and the bathroom that Parker finished his vomiting in last night? There was the poop-filled cloth diaper AND a vomit-covered cleaning cloth on the floor. I threw those last two things away. I'm starting to get the house in order. It is Jeff's birthday. I don't think I'm going to feel much like celebrating when he gets home. ------------------------------------------------
