Thursday, August 04, 2005 First Shots -- 6 month well visit Kira got her first shots today. She did so well! I mean, sure ,she cried, and made a pain-cry as they were injecting her, but she almost completely calmed down when Jeff picked her up and comforted her. I still nursed her, and she almost fell asleep, but she wasn't inconsolable for 15 minutes like Parker was. It continues to amaze me how things I just assumed could only be one was really can be different! A baby doesn't have to be overwraught over three needle sticks!! She received DTaP, Prevnar, and HIB. Other than the shots, her appointment went well. Clean bill of health, small patches of ecsema (including what he called coin ecsema), no sign of those darn top teeth, clear ears, and 25" long and 17 lbs. 10 oz!! Two ounces shy of doubling her birthweight ;). But, her weight is slightly above 50%ile, her height slightly below 50%ile, and her head circumference is 95%ile. Huge heads run in the family (no wonder she wouldn't enter my pelvis during labor!!). She's cleared for all foods, except citrus and nuts, apparently. Oh yeah, we weighed and measured Parker as well -- 33 pounds, 38 inches!! ------------------------------------------------
