I Don't Know Diddley
Gainesville is home to Bo Diddley. This is a fact I have known for quite a while, but it has never been made more apparent to me, by as many people, until the day I started hanging my Bo Diddley poster at work.
Back at Student Financial Affairs, one of my coworkers mentioned she lived right next door to Bo. She offered to take my poster home to have him sign, an offer I sadly did not take her up on until Bo moved away. Diligently, I followed through and found his home address and telephone number, but could not get in touch with him.
About five months ago, my car mechanic had a thank-you dinner for his customers, at which Bo performed. Strangely, we never received an invite, despite the fact we've spent in excess of $5,000 in repairs there this year alone. The mechanic promised to talk to Bo about it, but I still haven't heard back.
Just a few minutes ago, the Fed Ex guy was in our office and saw the poster. He then started to tell me how he delivers packages to Bo all the time.
Maybe I should just Fed Ex there and back again ;).

I met and shook hands with Bo on two different occasions...did not ask for his autograph, though!
