Language Barrier
We were with Parker at the Chinese restaurant last night. The waitress asked his name. He responded "Parker", but his R's were silent, so it sounded like "Pa-ka".
The waitress responded "Pa-ka". I'm not sure if that's because that's what it sounded like to her, or if she had difficulty saying the R's as well.
Parker's brow furrowed, and he said "No, pa-ka!"
"Pa-ka?".
More furrowed brow. "No, pa-ka."
"Pa-ka?".
A little more insistently. "No, pa-ka."
"Pa-ka?".
Frustration sets in. "No, paaa-kaaa."
Finally, I said "She said it, Parker." To which he said "Oh, okay" and quietly resumed eating.
