Luminous Beings Are We
Even Frank Oz has been blinded by CGI, saing that in today's market, a puppet Yoda simply wouldn't work. He told the Chicago Tribune:
"Those days have gone by -- we're in a digital age. That puppet would look archaic. But he'll always have a place in my heart."
I'm sorry you feel that way, Frank, especially since you've been such an essential part of Henson's productions. I just watched the original trilogy again, and was struck by how much more alive Yoda was in those films than he was in the prequels. You and your collaborators gave Yoda heart, Frank, and that transcends animatronics, rubber, wires, and fabric. Don't forget that.
