Mr. Fusion
Purdue scientists have designed a tabletop fusion reactor that creates fusion reactions using sound waves Theoretically, a large scale reactor of this type could convert a cubic kilometer of seawater into enough energy to provide 1000 years worth of energy for the United States. The reactions are completely contained in the microscopic bubbles of the solution, and the radioactive material that is produces decays in several decades, rather than hundreds of years. Is this the Panacea of limitless fusion power?
