Physical Manifestation of a Thought Process
That’s how Simon Starling describes his work, “shedboatshed”, the 2005 Turner Award winner. The Turner Award is one of the art world’s most prestigious prizes.
Starling dismantled a shed he found on the banks of the Rhine, turned it into a boat, sailed it to the museum, and rebuilt it into a shed.
The curators of the Tate say it "counters the illusory nature of globalisation and capitalist exchange".
