More sleepless musings ...
She is in a crib, and she will not play in it. She stands at the side and screams, cries, gets snot everywhere. Even if I stay in the room with her, she screams bloody murder. I swear -- it is bloody murder! I tried getting her to lay down on the bed with me -- no go. She kept yawning, and then scratching her head until she cried. She does that -- scratching her head. She's made it bleed before.
I have honestly been trying the crying to sleep, because I don't know what to do. Like Parker, she simply does NOT settle down. And I need her to! Parker can't have me not around for an hour for her to get to sleep!!
Kira is much more of a routine girl -- but she has totally broken that routine in the past month. If/when she does fall asleep, it is because she nursed, and when I try and move her, she wakes up screaming instantaneously.
I offer her warm milk in a straw cup, I've done rocking/reading/dark room with low noises (as low as possible with Parker around -- he's watching Star Wars to keep quiet while I have been trying to get her to sleep -- we're at the Death Star attack, and I've been trying since the beginning to get her to sleep), everything!
And, I know this is all a combination of things -- she's getting older and outgrowing the need for multiple naps (unfortunately), she's sick, and she's getting two molars. But this is so distruptive for everyone!! It is crazy! I really, really don't think that this is at all sound design for a baby!!!!
